St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia and the  Mission Of SHEC

The life of SHEC is significantly patterned after the modeling of St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia, the founder of the Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus and the Daughters of Divine Zeal.

St. Hannibal lived according to the values of the Kingdom of God, particularly its Good News to the Poor or social justice. He devoted much of his life by doing charitable works among poor children.

St. Hannibal is also called the Apostle of Prayer for Vocations, who took to heart the rich meaning of the following passage (Mt 9:37-38;Lk 10:2): “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. Pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send good workers into his harvest.”

Since majority of the harvest are the poor and the oppressed, it follows that at the heart of Rogationist spirituality is the formation of workers who have especial love and concern for the marginalized. Accordingly, SHEC is a fruit of the Rogationists’ faithful living of their pro-poor charism.
